On average, it takes around 2 weeks; however, there are many variables, and each job is unique.
If you are having quartz or solid surface worktops installed, this can extend the timeline to a third week.
If we are managing other aspects such as plastering, electrics, gas, flooring, or decorating, you can expect around 4 weeks to ensure everything is completed in the correct order.
Here is the project schedule for a typical mid-sized "rip out and replace" kitchen:
Week 1: Remove the existing kitchen, cap off or modify gas, water, and electrics. Skim walls to make them good. Install base units. Template for worktops.
Week 2: Install wall units, lighting, end panels, fillers, plinths, cornice, and pelmets. Worktops to be installed.
Week 3: Connect sink and tap. Connect appliances. Clean up.
A typical bedroom installation takes around 1 week. However, depending on the size of the room and any additional work, such as lighting, flooring, or decorating, it may extend into a second week.
Our lead times are typically around 1-2 months, depending on how busy we are. Before you pay the deposit, we will confirm how far in advance we are booked. Once the deposit is paid, your place in the queue is secured.
We recommend reviewing our Pricing Guide to help you determine your budget. We believe in being transparent with our clients and want to inform you that when we remove an existing kitchen, there is a rare chance that unforeseen issues may arise (the most common being the need for a new stop tap). Therefore, we always suggest budgeting a small contingency to account for such occurrences.
We require an initial deposit of 30% to secure your price against any increases and to reserve your place in the queue.
Approximately 4 weeks before the work is scheduled to start, we will request 50% of the overall value to cover our costs for purchasing the goods.
If we are handling the kitchen installation, we do not request the remaining 20% until the work is completed. However, if you are paying the installer directly for the installation, we ask for the final 20% before delivery.
Our proposals include payment dates before you sign, ensuring you are aware of when each payment is due.
Once we have removed the existing kitchen and capped off the water, gas, and electrics, you will not be able to use the kitchen facilities. However, it is not uncommon for us to keep the washing machine connected for as long as possible if requested.
We can only connect the sink, tap, and hob once the worktops are installed.
No, we cut the carpets back so the wardrobes can sit on the firm floor boards and once they have been completed then the carpets will need re-fitting to the plinth line of the wardrobes. This is something we can do however we like to discuss it beforehand as many customers choose to replace their carpets afterwards.
If we are dealing with ceramic tiles then we tile the floor beforehand so it goes wall to wall. However 99% of our kitchens have LVT flooring which usually goes in afterwards unless specified otherwise. We do prefer to self level the floor beforehand though as it reduces the chances of the cabientry getting splashed with levelling compound.
You do not necessarily have to move out; however, renovating any interior space can be a loud and dusty process, especially during the rip out stages. If possible, we recommend staying away for the first few days, particularly if there are children in the house. That said, we enjoy walking our clients through the process and are more than happy for you to oversee how everything is progressing.
We can handle any internal furniture-related projects. This includes home offices, bookcases, media walls, boot rooms, bathrooms, and much more.
While our business model is designed to bring everything to you—such as samples, photorealistic renders, and a comprehensive portfolio of our previous work—we completely understand that nothing beats the experience of physically testing items for yourself, whether it’s soft-close drawer runners, pull-out spice racks, or larger worktops.
We have access to the Gaddesby and Volpi kitchen showroom, which showcases everything you need to see in order to make your decision. Additionally, we also have access to our quartz fabricator's showroom and our LVT flooring showroom.
First and foremost, we want you to know that we have no intention of going anywhere—we’ve built a strong track record of success. Still, we understand that concerns about a company's stability can weigh on clients, especially with many larger retailers shutting their doors in the last five years.
If you choose a Luxe kitchen and we were to face any challenges, you’d still be protected. Your guarantees are registered with Gaddesby Kitchens (ECF), which has been a trusted name for over 40 years. You can feel confident knowing they’re a safe option for your kitchen investment.
Our kitchens are manufactured by a well established company called ECF in Leicestershire and delivered direct to site from the workshop.
Our quartz and natural stone is processed in Coventry
Our flooring comes from Coventry
Our hardware comes from Rugby
All our components are sourced from local manufacturers and suppliers, with the furniture being produced right here in Leicestershire.
Our designers work from home, which helps reduce the number of cars on the road.
Additionally, we arrange for everything to be delivered directly from our suppliers to the site. This approach not only cuts down on warehouse costs but also significantly lowers our carbon footprint.
Our business model focuses on keeping overheads low, allowing us to offer kitchens, bedrooms, and other products at fair prices without unnecessary markups.
We want to highlight that many companies inflate their prices only to offer discounts later. This practice doesn’t align with our ethos. Instead, we work strictly from the Recommended Retail Price (RRP), which is set by the manufacturers, not us.
Depending on the size and specifications of your project, you can expect our prices to be around 15-20% lower than RRP.
We also provide our clients with the option to pay for installation through Luxe, which includes VAT, or you can pay our fitters directly, who are not VAT registered, allowing you to save 20%.
